This is a recreational class that teaches the fundamentals of lyrical, tap and jazz. Dancers will focus on developing musicality, coordination, strength, flexibility and body awareness, all with the help of an energetic and encouraging teacher. This class is an excellent way for dancers to meet friends and be introduced to the many benefits of the performing arts and gain self-confidence in a fun environment.
Time: 1 hour class - Monday's 5:00-6:00
This is a high energy and fast-paced beginner/intermediate competition class that builds on the fundamentals of lyrical, tap and jazz. Dancers will attend outside training and performances, helping them to learn time-management and display positive sportsmanship.
Time: 1 hour class - Monday's 7:15 - 8:15
This is a required strength and conditioning class for all competition team members age 6-11. Throughout this class dancers will learn and perfect new turns and leap combinations, while strengthening their bodies.
Time: 1 hour class - Thursday's 5:00 - 6:00
This beginner/intermediate class will teach students the fundamentals of Hip Hop. Throughout class dancers will learn fun, high energy combinations across the floor and in center. The focus of this class is to help dancers continue building coordination and rhythm with the help of an upbeat instructor.
Time: 45 minute class - Monday's 6:30 - 7:15
This class transitions young dancers, age 6-9, into the structure of a standard classical ballet class with progressive ballet barre and center work. Strong teaching practices with increased emphasis on building foundational knowledge, skills, and etiquette of ballet are guided by a comprehensive, age-appropriate and differentiated set of guidelines that will meet the individual needs of all skill levels. Ballet Foundations will encourage and create good technical habits while building a dancer’s strength, flexibility, coordination, and the proper alignment needed to progress toward more advanced ballet movement.
Time: 45 minute class - Tuesday's 5:00 - 5:45
Pre-Pointe is a serious step in ballet training for dancers 10-11 and is designed to utilize previously learned ballet technique. Throughout the progression of this class dancers will focus on correct classical ballet technique, control through movements, cross training and strength building of the intrinsic muscles of the foot and ankle. Special care and attention to the needs of each individual will be a top priority while preparing the dancer for the safe progression of dancing en pointe. This class is a prerequisite for instructor invitation to going on pointe and for Pointe I and II classes, regardless of the age of the dancer.
Time: 1 hour class - Tuesday's 6:30 - 7:30
This class is a beginner/intermediate level Acro and Tumbling class. Proper and safe technique will be taught and practiced with a perfect blend of acro and tumbling skills. Emphasis on the safe progression of skill development in strength, flexibility, balance and tumbling. This class blends skills that are designed for dancers that wish to set themselves apart on stage and further compliment their dance training, as well as athletes in any sport. The instructor reserves the right to adjust a dancers’ placement at any time throughout the year.
